Welcome to the Sugarwood Referral section!   This section highlights service oriented companies (i.e. painters, roofers, electricians, etc.) that have performed services in the Sugarwood neighborhood.   If you know of any companies or persons that you would be willing to tell your neighbors about, we will include them on our listing.

Rules are simple - If you've had a contractor that has done work for YOU, and you're willing to list your name and talk with your neighbors about the quality of their work, then we'll list them.   Only the last name of the person making the recommendation will be listed (unless otherwise requested).   Sugarwood residents can check their directory for the phone number is they want to talk with them in more detail about the person and/or company they used.

Send your referral(s) to "Mlphilips@charter.net" and since it will be posted, please be conscious of how you'd like it worded.   Right now we've only listed Roofers and Painters but if you have the names and phone numbers of other crafts (tile, electrical, plumbing, etc.) that would be worth including, let us know!

Roofing Recommendations:

• We used Frank Barrett Roofing.   They were honest and fast.   They did 90% of the work with at least 15+ workers in one day.... tearing off the old, cleaning up as they went and placing on the new.   (Ogle)

• I had my roof done back in 1997... by Eagle Tech Roofing & Construction Technologies.   Call Rick Ingrahm at 546-4108.   They did a great job on mine.... no leaks, no problems.   Still looks like new and it is 6 years old this August.   Come see it at 11908 Buroak Circle.   (Reego)
• In 2000, we used Patrick Owens of Owens Roofing in Maryville (phone 423-681-1176).   He was very courteous and thorough, and we were very happy with his work.   He gave us a detailed written estimate and was fully insured.   (Simandl)
• We had our roof replaced 3 years ago by Robert Fryar.   His phone numbers are 947-9607 and 938-9607.   His price was reasonable, did a great job, took care not to damage our shrubbery or our yard, and started and completed the job on the dates that he predicted.   He lives in Karns and several family members work with him.   He's been in business a long time and I would highly recommend him.   (Bailey)
• Robert Fryar - Our home had numerous leaks in a relatively new roof when we moved in.   Another contractor suggested we call Robert.   It was excellent advice.   In addition to repairing the problem areas, the men are considerate, get the job done as scheduled, take care not to damage landscaping, and the quote was reasonable.   (Pasquale)

Painter Recommendations:

• I would like to update the reference I had given for a painter.   I just had the inside of my house painted and John Carver did a fabulous job again.   Please let people know that he will give a discount for painting done inside during the winter.   I could not be any happier with his work.   John Carver is with Precision Painting and his number is 671-3724.   (McCorkle)
• We've had our place painted several times over the past 15 years.   Have been satisfied with only one of the painters -- Chimney Sweeps West (865.588.1482) -- who we discovered through a referral from another Sugarwood resident.   They only use Sears paint, but claim to be able to mix it to match any color you want.   In our case, that was true.   We'd use them again, although we hope to not need to.   They did our place about 5 years ago, and it's still holding up well.   (Tudor)

Remodeling Recommendations:

• Travis Palatinus - Does exceptional work.   Travis hasn't been in the business (on his own) for very long and may take longer to complete the job than anticipated.   However, the outcome is worth the wait.   Clean & courteous.   (Pasquale)
• Jonathan Chancey - We have used Jonathan for several remodeling projects and have been thrilled with the results.   He's been in the business for over 30 years and uses a very small crew.   The men are clean and courteous.   Reasonable quotes.   (Pasquale)
• I let somebody to perform some jobs in my house (small remodeling, handyman jobs) and I am very satisfied with his performance and thus I will recommend him to any another person/household in Sugarwood.   His name is Mr. Richard Cook (Remodeling Services) and he can be contacted at 865-660-3251.   He works with his son in almost any work around the house.   (Paulauskas)
• I had some sheetrock repair work done by Kevin from Get It Done Contracting at 865-712-3265 and he did a fabulous job! He is very neat and precise with his work to get it done correctly and with honesty and integrity. He also does refinishing floors, painting, wiring, remodeling, tile work, pressure washing, etc. Kevin is new to the area and just starting this business here but comes with many years of experience. He is happy to take on "small jobs" as well as big. I plan to hire him for more work in the future and gladly recommend him to my neighbors. (Wharton)

Flooring:

• David Vaughan of Knoxville Carpet Wholesalers (670-1200), 8705 Unicorn Drive was a great source for our wood flooring and carpeting.   He was very easy to work with and provided us with some great prices.   If you use them for carpeting try and get George Gardner as your installer as he did an excellent job.   (Roberts)
• We would like to refer Darryl Morris of Ceramic Tile Creations (278-3759) for the installation of ceramic tile and wood flooring.   He's very reasonable and did a great job for both us and another relative. (Roberts)

Tree Service Recommendations:

• Tom's Tree Service (988-5609/898-5943) did an excellent job working on our trees. They do tree and stump removal as well as pruning. Their estimates were more reasonably priced than the other estimates we obtained.   (Roberts)

Cleaning Service Recommendations:

• If anyone is looking for an excellent and experienced housekeeper, Jackie Smith would like to recommend Yolanda Vasquez (591-6726).   Contact Jackie if you would like to talk to her about her experience using this person. (Smith)

Landscaping Recommendations:

• We recommend James Poutson Professional Landscaping, 988-9384.   We purchased mulch in the spring and we recently had some lawn maintenance and sodding done.   They are reasonably priced and we have been very pleased with their work.   (Conner)
